My newest book, currently known simply as Innisfree Book 6, is set to launch early 2025. It's a very relatable and uplifting tale of thirty-something Alice, who struggles to strike a balance in life—what to hang on to, what to let go, when to hold back and when to jump in. It is set against the backdrop of a beautiful Irish castle and the fictional Innisfree Village.

Absolutely! I offer virtual book club visits for groups reading my novels. Most have discussion guides for Book Clubs at the back. It’s a great way to discuss the books, ask questions, and gain insights. For I'm Still Standing, The Book Trail created a map for readers and tourists to explore the landmarks and walks throughout Dublin—it's amazing! The Book Trail Book Trails - The Book Trail

Nothing beats firsthand experience! For The Irish Lake House I spent months re-discovering the Wild Atlantic Way- hiking, camping, and wild swimming. It was amazing.
I work closely with local tourism in Ireland Home - Visit North Mayo to ensure I'm showcasing the most captivating aspects of our beautiful country. My Instagram @authorcolleencoleman often features photos from these "research trips."
Yes, I run seasonal writing retreats in County Mayo, focusing on personal and creative writing—from memoir to journaling. I’ve loved every moment of these retreats and the amazing experiences we've shared—no phones, no shoes, no pretence. We climb mountains, share stories, sleep deeply, and return renewed. It’s my passion project, and I look forward to it every single time and have made the most precious friends for life.
Every book is different, but I always start with a "story map" - a visual representation of the plot and character arcs. I'm a night owl, so I do most of my writing from 1-9 AM, fueled by sweet tea, hot buttered toast, a great playlist, and sunrise consultations with my two dogs. It can be quite an upside-down life, so I'm always thrilled to get a message and share snippets of works-in-progress on Facebook and Instagram @authorcolleencoleman - come cheer me on!
Ireland is full of fascinating people! I often jot down interesting traits or snippets of conversation I overhear in local cafes or at the airport. My character development process is detailed in my blog post "From Strangers to Stories"
